The loops of leather and other material hold important parts of your bag together such as straps and buckles, if they break in an unrepairable way, we simply make you a new one. We can match everything as close as possible to the original.
A common repair and often the first to need replacing on a handbag is the edging. Edging is the acrylic-based paint or wax, painted along the edges of cut leather which dries and cracks over time. We remove the old, damaged edging, add a new edging, then hand mix a new colour and reapply the paint. It will change the whole look of your bag and give it the facelift its crying out for.
We like to think we are pretty talented when it comes to colour restoration, it takes an artistic flair to replicate the manufacturers leather colour and to ensure an as-new restoration. We will never compromise the touch or feel of a designer handbag. Not all colour restoration will need surface restoration, but all surface restoration will need colour.
Is your handbags plastic piping poking out of the corners of our bag? We conceal any piping that has become visible, while keeping the external shape, using hand-moulded surface and colour restoration techniques.
The binding on a bag is the narrow strip of leather or fabric folded over an edge to provide a finished, decorative effect. Think of the opening of a Louis Vuitton Neverfull… (but really it can be found on many bags). When it tears or wears down, we can replace it in whole or in part with as close as possible a match to the original.
Linings, tabs, straps, gussets and zips – stitching.....when it breaks or gets loose we can repair it for you. It is one of our specialities. Be it a simple repair or the most intricate and complex, our team will use the exact shade of thread to make sure it looks as if we were never there.
